  • Uplifting to read of achievements and hopes. Have been trying unsuccessfully so far to have Core Path 200 ( former line of Monkland Railways opened in 1856) that is a key ‘spine’ in the South Airdrie Paths Network – linking into Calderbank ( 20 minute neighbour and village service centre) on the south and to the Brownsburn Community Park, Gartlea and Central Airdrie on the north.
Why can our Community Council not have the upgrade to improve drainage made? The explanation is that NLC has discovered that Taylor Wimpey (built the houses here 50 years ago) continues to own a sliver of land where the path lies. Our residents (many being elderly) are not fit to dig ditches or barrow loads of stone. What should we do?
